An excellent anchor in Port Antonio is Di Ole Marina Bar & Restaurant. This is the original main marina in Port Antonio, which most notably started, and still hosts the International Marlin Tournament for over 50 years. The Sir Henry Morgan Angling Association organizes this catch (and release) tournament competition to entice anglers from all over the globe to snag the prized Atlantic Blue Marlin.
Now that Port Antonio has built its new marina, Di Ole Marina is adapted to fewer boaters, but emphasises an excellent restaurant and bar. The restaurant and bar has become a destination in itself, even for landlubbers. Hosting with a relaxed atmosphere, you can’t help but enjoy the whimsical beer-barrels transformed into furniture.
The menu features, of course, seafood, but don’t feel pressured. You can also get a wide variety of main dishes, as well as special offerings. The bar is a cozy, welcoming niche, where the bartender will fix you up with a variety of concoctions. Music and dancing are also common weekend staples at Di Ole Marina.
Di Ole Marina is located on the east end of Port Antonio, next to the old railway station, in the historic district where much shipping and receiving used to take place in the early days of Port Antonio.
